Surrey vs. Gloucestershire, Final, Royal London ODI Cup – Betting Tips and Predictions

The Gloucs emerged right on top by defeating Yorkshire in the semi-finals by 8 wickets after successfully chasing 264 runs with more than three overs to spare; they will take on Surrey, who defeated the Notts by a narrow margin of 4 runs, in the finals of the Royal London ODI cup on 19th Sep at the Lord’s. Both teams are excited about their chances here and will definitely come out all guns blazing on Saturday to take the trophy.

Gloucestershire

The bowlers combined well to restrict the Yorks to 263 runs; Howell took 3-37 being the pick of the lot while the rest of them mixed their pace and length to take a wicket each in regular intervals. Payne and Taylor showed a lot of discipline while Fuller, Norwell and Smith look good to continue with their wicket-taking abilities.
With the bat, Michael Klinger posted a brilliant 137 off 145 deliveries to steer the team towards victory; Marshall and Dent supported the captain well in keeping the scoreboard ticking and winning the match. The batsmen have one well and if they can build solid partnerships in the middle, it will give their bowlers a lot to work with in the scenario that they have to defend a total. Surrey

Sangakkara’s heroic 166 off 138 balls gave the required impetus to their innings batting first against the Notts in the semi-finals; Foakes and Wilson provided support as they contributed with 40+ runs each while Burns played a good hand. If chasing in the finals, a lot will depend on their ability to stabilize the innings with good partnerships; the youngsters will have to shoulder the responsibilities with equal measure.
Curran and Dernbach continued their good form with the ball as they took 2 wickets each; Ansari and Kapil took one scalp each to keep the pressure on the opposition and restricting them to 296 in reply to the target of 301. With a narrow win, the team surely has received a morale boost and would like to continue with their winning momentum in the title clash on Saturday. With experienced batsmen like Sangakkara and in-form bowlers, the team is looking good to step up a notch and come out all guns blazing in the upcoming match against the Gloucs.

Being the finals, it will be a closely contested match with either side having equal chances to emerge victorious; the side that can keep a cool head above its shoulders, will have an advantage at the end. We feel that with an experience batting line-up, Surrey is better placed to win the match and lift the trophy on Saturday.
