BV Vitori 4-0-41-0
T Panyangara 4-0-29-0
We're gearing up for the first ball. The two teams are out
on the field. Spin to open up again. Prosper Utseya to take the new ball and he
will have Ahmed Shehzad at the other end to take aim at.
1.00pm: Zimbabwe win the toss and have decided to bowl. They've
made one change with Tendai Chatara sitting out and Tinashe Panyangara coming
into the side. Pakistan have also rested Mohammad Irfan and Saeed Ajmal. Asad
Ali and Zulfiqar Babar take their place.
Brendan Taylor was happier chasing and thinks the wicket
will play well through the 40 overs. He wanted to tighten things up with the
ball, especially with the extras and take the attack to the opposition.
Mohammad Hafeez wants better intensity from the side and is
looking for a more convincing win. He was happy batting first and backed his
bowling side to defend the total they put up.
"When you chose to let Pak bat first you inadvertently
hand them half the match. philosophy of the pitches and conditions aside,
reality is that pak always struggles in chase. ZIM has done the blunder yet
again and lost already". There's still a long way left to go, Shahzad.
Lets wait on it.
fahad alam: "I cant believe they have left out junaid
again"
12.50pm: Hello and welcome to live coverage of the second
T20 international between Pakistan and Zimbabwe. We're in Harare again, with
the scoreline 1-0 in favor of the visitors. Here's the pitch report from Dirk
Viljoen
We've moved to a new pitch today, which brings the square
leg boundary a lot closer to the right hander against the bowler coming in from
the Golf Course end. The wicket itself has a decent shine to it, says Viljoen,
hinting at a little bit of moisture. It's a good wicket, the cracks are smaller
and not as many as from the last game. He adds if Zimbabwe could restrict Pakistan
to a similar total as yesterday they could be in with a chance.
Waseem abbas: "Zimbabwe missed a golden chance
yesterday. if zulfiquar babar plays today then it will be more difficult for
the hosts to avoid clean sweep"
As we wait for the toss, why dont you have a peek at Firdose
Moonda's day out at the eKasi tournament at Mamelodi in Pretoria.

Panyangara to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, carves the fullish
ball just outside off to long-off
ZCFOutkast: "My boy Panyangara continues to do his
stuff. 3 more of him and Pak would be setting targets within our reach.
Definitely in the Test side for me."
18.2
Panyangara to Ahmed Shehzad, 1 run, full and straight but
its in the slot for the batsman to drive the ball straight, but its too
straight and hits the stumps at the bowler's end. The ball runs off to long-off
and the batsman scamper for a single
18.3
Panyangara to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, angled into the pads,
not giving any room and he picks it off the front foot down to straight
midwicket boundary
18.4
Panyangara to Ahmed Shehzad, SIX, length ball and Shehzad
pounces on it. Good balance on the crease and he pulls out the full swing of
the bat, as he has done throughout his innings and hoists it over long-off this
time

Panyangara to Ahmed Shehzad, 2 runs, oh, he's mistimed this
one. fullish ball just outside off and his almightly swing takes the outside
half of the bat and goes high into the air towards the cover region. Two
fielders converge but the ball lands right in the middle

opens the face to this full ball on off stump through the covers

Brian Vitori to bowl the final over
19.1
Vitori to Ahmed Shehzad, SIX, length ball and its sent out
of here. Shehzad goes to 92. Another six over long on. High, handsome and
powerful
19.2
Vitori to Ahmed Shehzad, 2 runs, a lot fuller this time and
he goes for a Dhoni-esque shot. Its not quite the helicopter, but he manages to
hit it down to long-off and collects two runs. Poor fielding there
Mazher: Ahmed Shehzad has become first Pakistan batsman to
hit 6 Sixes in a Twenty20I innings. This is now also highest score by a
Pakistan batsman in T20Is.
19.3
Vitori to Ahmed Shehzad, 2 runs, Full again, this time on
leg and he strikes it off to deepmidwicket and tears off between the wickets to
collect another double. He's four short of a century
19.4
Vitori to Ahmed Shehzad, 1 run, full on leg and he flicks it
off his pads down to deep fine leg, but it only gets the single and Shehzad
punches his thigh and looks very disappointed.
19.5
Vitori to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, full on middle and its
dabbed calmly to long-off. Shehzad on strike now. Three more for his century
Jeff: "What am I missing, why did Waller bowl an over
for 4 runs and then not get bowled again?"
19.6
Vitori to Ahmed Shehzad, 1 run, oh, he doesn't get it.
Shehzad finishes on 98 as he clips this full ball with a lot of bottom hand out
to deep midwicket
Pakistan have put in a commanding batting performance and
its Shehzad at the forefront of it all. Crisp innings with some delightful
strikes down the ground. And Hafeez gave him great support, getting himself in
and rotating strike early on and then got on his bike as Pakistan looked to go
on the charge. They've set up a highly competitve total here. Zimbabwe captain
Taylor said his side wasn't too far off in the last game and wanted to take the
attack to the opposition. They've been forced to do that now, facing a chase of
just under 9 an over. That's all from me down here. Do join us in a few when
Kanishkaa will be taking you through the chase.
